We have detected that fraudulent third parties are contacting our speakers and invited guests, falsely claiming to be the official travel agency<\/strong> for Smart City Expo World Congress. These entities often appear to be legitimate businesses and may reach out via email, especially if they identify you as a speaker at SCEWC25.<\/p>

Be aware that you must avoid fraudulent companies<\/strong> such as Global Travel Team (planning@gtravelhosting.com<\/a>), Global Travel Experts, Converia Travel or Travel Housing Team (event-hotels@travelhousing.net<\/a>).<\/p>

What to do if targeted by a scammer:<\/strong><\/p>

If you encounter or receive fraudulent websites, emails, or other communications, please ignore them completely. Do not click on any links, make any payments, or engage in any form of communication. Responding to these messages \u2013 even just writing back \u2013 confirms that your contact information is active, which may lead to continued attempts to reach you<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t

2. FIRA BARCELONA and its events do not offer lists, information and\/or related data to its visitors<\/strong><\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t

In the last few months we have noticed a considerable increase in emails received offering\u00a0lists of visitors to the events organised by FIRA BARCELONA<\/strong>. This institution wishes to inform all its clients that BARCELONA and its events<\/strong> have no relationship of any kind with the companies that send these emails and\u00a0have not in any way provided information and\/or data to its visitors<\/strong>.<\/p>

We do not know the content of the list they offer for sale among exhibitors, although\u00a0WE HAVE VERIFIED THAT IN NO CASE DOES IT COME FROM OUR DATABASES<\/strong>\u00a0so the veracity and accuracy of the data are doubtful and it is bound to contain inaccurate and unverified information. Today, data collection techniques such as web scraping make it possible to obtain information that is public but that has not been checked, and in many cases it bears no relation to the real database of attendees at Fira Barcelona events and congresses.<\/p>

For this reason,\u00a0we are alerting you to these practices<\/strong>\u00a0and we reiterate our\u00a0commitment to the confidentiality of our customers and visitors\u2019 data<\/strong>, as well as to the\u00a0strict compliance with the rules<\/strong> of the privacy policy as laid down here<\/a>.<\/p>
